Getting started & uploads

From your file to confirmed completion.

How does my free 30-day trial start?

The trial includes 30 days from activation, 1 GB of storage and 5 GB of traffic in total. No payment details are needed and it does not automatically become a paid subscription. After confirming your email, you choose your own password.

The trial page shows whether a place is available. If you choose a paid plan, its term starts when payment is confirmed; any remaining trial days end.

Which video files can I upload?

You can select the following file formats for upload. Whether a particular file can be processed also depends on its contents: it must contain a readable video track. A file extension alone does not guarantee successful processing.

  • MP4, MOV, M4V, WEBM – common recordings and video exports.
  • MTS, M2TS, MXF – additional recording and export formats.
  • AVI, MKV, MPEG, MPG, WMV, VOB – other video files.
  • 3GP, 3GPP, 3G2, FLV, RM, WTV – also for older video collections.

Your upload window shows the current per-file size limit and supported formats. The file limit is separate from the storage remaining in your account. Newly processed videos in video storage play through HLS; the extension of your upload file is not the playback format.

If a file is rejected, check the upload status message. A new export from your editing software may help. Do not upload the same file repeatedly while its job is still processing.

The upload shows 100 percent. Is my video ready?

An upload at 100 percent means the file has been transferred. Video storage still needs to process it, check it and add it to the media library. Wait for the completion notice before sharing the finished player. Once Continue in background is offered, you can leave the upload window and keep working. Upload status remains accessible when you move to other sections.

Player & viewer access

Customise, protect and show it on your page.

How do I change the player colour and thumbnail?

Open your video in the media library. Choose a design, accent colour and aspect ratio in the player settings. In the thumbnail tool, choose an image or a moment from the video. Save your changes, then check the saved player.

Is sharing in the player the same as enabling viewer access?

No. Viewer access determines whether viewers can reach your video. Sharing in the player offers a public page address you choose for viewers to copy or share. Password, domain and time rules still apply. Enter the full address and check it after saving; a private account address is not suitable.

How do I add my brand to the player?

Choose a player logo or short branding text for the video, with your own link if needed. Image backgrounds and available device frames have separate settings. Save and check the player. Customise video page header and footer logos separately. The options you can edit depend on your plan and permissions.

How do I add chapters and subtitles?

Open the relevant video tools for your selected video. Give each chapter a title and a time, such as the start of a lesson. Manage subtitles in the subtitle section. The features you can edit depend on your plan and permissions.

How do I embed a video on my website?

Open the Embed tab for the saved video. New videos start out private. Under Access & embedding, check the available protection rules, confirm your choice and enable the link. Wait for confirmation. Use Copy code to copy the code into a suitable HTML or embed block on your website. Check playback on your page, including as a viewer who is not signed in. Alternatively, share a customised video page through its link.

How do I customise a video page or a video series?

Open Video page for the video. For a video-only page, leave the text fields, including the page title, empty and save the page draft. You can also customise the heading, text, logos and appearance. Then check the private preview and deliberately publish the saved draft under Viewer access.

For a folder page, open Folder page on the desired folder and select at least one video. One video is enough; add more to create an ordered series. A main folder can also include videos from its subfolders; a subfolder page contains only videos from that subfolder. Introduction and closing text are optional. Saving keeps the draft private. To publish a series, each selected video needs viewer access and a published video page; the overview shows what is missing. Only explicit publication creates the viewer version. Password, domain and time rules still apply.

How do I choose who can watch my video?

Open Embed for the video, then Access & embedding. Under Password protection, choose Set new password to set the video password. It is separate from your account password. You can specify allowed websites for embedding; a time period limits availability. Confirm your choice and wait for the saved access settings.

Before sharing, check viewer access in a separate browser session. With a domain restriction, playback is available only as an embed on an allowed website, so a directly opened viewer link may be blocked. Under Password dialog, customise the text of the password prompt. That does not change the password itself. The options you can edit depend on your plan and permissions.

I cannot sign in. What can I do?

Use the email address of your existing Vioneto account. If you have forgotten your account password, open Reset password. It first checks whether recovery is available. A request is processed only when you ask for a reset link yourself. Your account password is separate from any individual video password.

If recovery is unavailable or you still cannot sign in, contact us through the contact page without signing in. Do not send passwords, sign-in codes or reset links.

How do I work with my team?

As the owner, invite team members under “Team & access”. Each person uses their own login. Set which areas they may edit and which main folders and their subfolders they may access.

The owner, active team members and pending invitations that are still valid use seats. Deactivated accounts do not count. The pricing page shows included seats and the cost of extra logins.

With owner access: manage your team Compare logins and prices
What do video statistics show?

Choose a time period and, if needed, a video or folder. Statistics show recorded playback starts over time. A start is not a uniquely counted person; the same person can start a video more than once.

Check billed traffic and your allowances separately under “Traffic & usage”. Playback statistics do not replace traffic billing.

With access: open statistics
How do I navigate the editor?

The video preview uses the available width and has no scroll bar of its own. Scroll the page to reach further content. Long settings lists on the right scroll separately when needed. On smaller screens, the sections are stacked. On a computer, you can collapse the main navigation to a narrow icon rail.
